Field Service Technician

Description:
We are seeking Field Service Technician who will install
wireless antennas and routers for data and telephone users. Climb rooftops to
install wireless equipment. Terminate Cat5e cable with RJ45 connectors. And
troubleshoot problems.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Responsible for installing, relocating, disconnecting, and
troubleshooting, high speed internet and digital telephone services and
equipment.
- Respond to customer requests and answer customer questions in a
professional, courteous and effective manner.
- Perform installation of all Cat5e wiring for the use of high speed
internet and digital telephone services.
- Complete disconnects and collect company equipment from disconnecting
customers.
- Keep all customers informed of your expected arrival time and/or
coordinate with supervisor for assistance when needed.
- Safely operate and properly maintain tools, equipment and vehicles.
- Accurately maintain work orders and other related documentation in
accordance with company and departmental policies.
- Organize, maintain and stock vehicle with the proper equipment in order
to perform the required duties. Obey all traffic laws. Inspect and report
vehicle safety hazards. Keep vehicle inventory neat and organized.
- Report all property damage, injuries, customer complaints and other
potential problems and unusual occurrences promptly to a supervisor.
- Perform all work as necessary to conform to quality control guidelines
(includes compliance with regulations such as OSHA, FCC, etc.) and in
accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor in order to achieve
departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills desired.
- Good problem-solving, record-keeping and organizational skills
desirable.
- Must be able to complete paperwork, read work orders and road maps.
- Good communication skills, customer relations skills and ability to
educate customers.
- Ability to use common hand tools: electric drills, wrenches,
screwdrivers, etc.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Must have good driving record.
- Work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Ability to comply with all Company implemented procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate courtesy, composure and patience to ensure good
customer relations.
- Knowledge of Cable/Satellite TV type installations beneficial.
- Work overtime and Saturdays.
- Good grooming and dress standards.
- Suitable customer service attitude.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to sit, stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl,
grasp, reach, push, pull, bend at the knee & waist and walk.
- Required to safely and efficiently use hand tools and to lift and handle
ladders weighing up to 75 lbs for first and second story work.
- Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder safely (up to 32ft
high).
- Must be physically able to work in adverse weather conditions and
confined spaces (attic, crawl spaces, etc.).
